Honeywell hopes to make real-time aircraft data a reality

Honeywell's recent selection by Inmarsat to develop and distribute hardware for the latter's upcoming Ka-band satellite-powered Global Xpress aeronautical service has Honeywell hopeful that it will be able to use bandwidth speed connections to develop real-time aircraft health monitoring. A continuous air-to-ground data stream holds the promise of reducing flight delays, cancellations and diversions through improved aircraft maintenance.
