N.Y. explores financing options for new $5.2B Tappan Zee Bridge

New York state is considering new options for the $5.2 billion Tappan Zee Bridge project after the federal government rejected a $2 billion loan application. Public-private partnerships, higher tolls, and other federal aid are among the options the state is reviewing. “We’re working through a number of financing options, and we’ll present a number of options, and we’ll present them for discussion and then we’ll pick the best one,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
