Recalled dog food linked to human salmonella infections

CDC officials said the recently recalled Diamond Pet Foods dry dog food is the probable source of a nine-state salmonella outbreak that has made 14 people ill and hospitalized at least five. Officials say the human infections likely stemmed from handling either the tainted food or an animal that had eaten it.
