Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., has announced his support for a bill introduced by Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, that seeks to strike down the 2.3% medical device tax scheduled to take effect next year. The tax "will raise premiums for patients and destroy jobs in a fast-growing and lifesaving industry -- including as many as 1,000 jobs in Tennessee alone," said Alexander, who agreed to be a co-sponsor.
