For the past two decades, Timberland has run a "Path of Service" program giving employees paid leave to participate in community projects. That's one of the most successful and important parts of the company's CSR program, says sustainability chief Beth Holzman. "Community engagement is the most tangible way that employees interact with our corporate responsibility programs," she says.
