Analysts: Smaller players lead U.S. in energy revolution

Smaller players in the oil and natural gas sector are leading the way in the U.S. energy revolution, as larger companies came to the scene too late, analysts said. Brian Youngberg, an analyst at Edward Jones, said that because of their size, major companies struggle to profit from any single undertaking. Author Gregory Zuckerman also said that these companies spent a lot to catch up with the competition, while smaller producers disregarded conventions and experimented with hydraulic fracturing.
