How to grade companies' executive diversity

A growing number of groups are ranking and grading corporate executive-diversity efforts, but scorecards from groups such as DiversityInc, the Catalyst Awards and Working Mother don't tell the whole story, Lauren Leader-Chivee writes. While it's valuable to seek ways to quantify diversity, it's also important to consider intangibles such as culture and commitment, she advises. "These are hard and complex challenges, and every piece of progress has to be appreciated for the context, complexity, and value it has," Leader-Chivee writes.
