WHO warns of global diabetes epidemic

Diabetes has become a global epidemic, and the number of sufferers worldwide is expected to double to 366 million by 2030, the World Health Organization warned Wednesday. The current death toll from diabetes already exceeds the three million killed by AIDS, and the disease is growing fastest in poorer countries, where rates are expected to increase by 150% during the next 25 years.
