British brewery's green roof sprouts grass

Landscapers at the Adnams Brewery in Southwold, England, received a surprise when the brewery's green roof began to sprout grass. The green roof was installed in 2006 with a thin layer of pregrown sedum blankets, and grass began to appear as a second plant community. The species of grasses on the roof were used to restrictive conditions, as the brewery was on the site of a former quarry.
