Canadian pipeline construction takes a green turn

Alberta officials are working with the construction industry and environmental groups to develop green techniques for building pipelines. Dubbed Innovative Pipelining Strategies, the effort focuses on minimizing the impact of pipeline construction on the environment. For example, workers may use a barge to float a pipe over a wet area instead of using heavy vehicles that would damage the land.
