Iowa awards $2.1M grant to build photobioreactor system

The state of Iowa awarded a $2.1 million grant to BioProcessAlgae to build a photobioreactor system at an ethanol plant. The pilot project would capture CO2 from ethanol production and reuse the carbon dioxide to grow algae. BioProcessAlgae is a joint venture among four companies: Clarcor, BioProcessH2O, Green Plains Renewable Energy and NTR.
