Schwarzenegger backs public-private partnerships for infrastructure

Public-private partnerships present an alternative way to pay for California infrastructure projects after the economic stimulus funds are spent, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said. He said reauthorization of federal aid for transportation programs later this year will give state leaders a chance to address long-term funding for infrastructure. The American Society of Civil Engineers recently found California spends $2 billion less to maintain its highways than is actually required.
