Enterprises have an insatiable demand for WLAN nets

Revenue for corporate wireless LAN equipment rebounded in the fourth quarter for the top 10 equipment makers, increasing 4% from the previous year after declining for several periods because of the recession, IDC reported. Analysts say enterprises -- as well as college campuses -- have created Wi-Fi networks, many using the new 802.11n standard, in every-growing numbers to access IP-based bandwidth-hungry services such as video.
