HHS asks individuals and organizations for comments on EHR data disclosures

HHS is seeking comments on revisions made to the HIPAA privacy rule, which would require providers and other covered entities to account for disclosures of protected health data entered in EHRs, even if the information is for billing and treatment. The comments will help HHS craft stricter health data privacy rules as mandated in the HITECH Act.
