Japanese online retailer Rakuten prepares to expand

Hiroshi Mikitani, president of Japan's Rakuten, is planning to expand the online retailer into 10 foreign markets by the end of 2010 and another 17 over time. Asian Internet companies increasingly are striving to expand into overseas markets as their domestic growth cools. However, they face significant obstacles, including cultural barriers.
