Massachusetts to investigate cause of water main burst

Massachusetts officials are preparing to launch an investigation into why a steel clamp connecting two sections of a water main failed, releasing some 265 million gallons of water into the Charles River and cutting residents off from clean drinking water. The MetroWest tunnel that burst was built seven years ago to replace the Hultman Aqueduct, which is currently undergoing a massive upgrade.
