Report advocates for green job growth on freight railways

An environmental group offered a resounding endorsement of rail transport in a report that says "freight rail jobs are green jobs." In the report, the Blue Green Alliance and the Economic Policy Institute offer a basis for industry tax breaks that would help shift more freight to fuel-efficient railways and help boost job creation. The study estimates that every $1 billion invested in freight rail creates about 7,800 jobs.
