Spanish man thanks doctors and donor's family for face transplant

Doctors in Spain replaced the bottom two-thirds of a man's face deformed with benign tumors caused by a congenital disease. The patient, known only as Rafael, faced the media this week in the hope of encouraging tissue donation, according to Dr. Tomas Gomez Cia, head of the plastic surgery unit at the hospital where the 30-hour surgery took place.
