Without stimulus, states may be forced to cut deeper

The end of federal stimulus funds could mean even bigger cuts for state budgets this year. States, which have been struggling with declining tax revenues since 2008, were able to cushion the blow last year as a result of federal stimulus money. This year, however, many states are bracing for bigger cuts and considering tax increases.
