CFTC's O'Malia renews concerns about swaps rules

Scott O'Malia, a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said the agency's proposed swaps rules would raise expenses for end users such as airlines, manufacturers and power companies. Lawmakers told the CFTC to avoid that consequence when it writes rules mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act. O'Malia said the CFTC's definition of a swaps deal is too broad.
