Novel microchip enables simultaneous tests of protein interactions

Stanford University researchers are developing a microchip loaded with magnetically responsive nanosensors that allow them to simultaneously study how drugs bind to different proteins. The research is described in a paper in Nature Nanotechnology. "The goal is to test once a drug is developed," lead author Richard Gaster said in this interview. Using the chip, researchers can test how strongly a drug binds to the target as well as nontargets.
