Mich. bill to add bittering agent to antifreeze gains Senate backing

Michigan state Sen. Steve Bieda introduced a bill that would compel antifreeze manufacturers to add a bittering agent to help keep children and pets from ingesting the toxic liquid. The measure calls for companies to comply by January 2015. The bill, passed by the Senate, awaits consideration in the House.
