Caldeira urges Wage and Hour Division administrator to be cautious

Wage and Hour Division Administrator David Weil may lead an effort to make franchise companies liable for wages at franchise locations, but IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira says the agency should be cautious, as franchising is a major job creator. "Franchising has been growing exponentially, and that would not be happening if people did not see the great value in the business model. So to hear his views, especially now that he will wield enormous power and oversight over the private sector, is downright frightening to the franchise industry and the overall business community," Caldeira says.
