Darden ends co-branded concept in light of Red Lobster plans

Darden Restaurants closed two of its six combination Olive Garden-Red Lobster locations and will convert the other four into standalone Olive Garden restaurants, in anticipation of the company's plans to sell or spin off Red Lobster. The Orlando-based company began opening the co-branded locations in smaller markets three years ago, in buildings with shared kitchens but separate dining rooms.
