It may be possible to sell your business even if it's in rough shape, Bonnie Lee writes. "If your business is floundering, perhaps there is still hope for selling rather than closing. You may be able to spend a bit of time to bring the business back up to lucrative levels that will attract a decent selling price," Lee writes. But even if you don't have that kind of patience, competitors may be willing to pay for assets such as your client list, she writes.
