Very few children get cholesterol test despite rising obesity rates

Data from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey revealed only 3.4% of U.S. children received a cholesterol screening between 1995 and 2010 despite the rising obesity rates in the country. The findings appear in the Journal of the American Medical Association and were slated for presentation at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting.
