Old tires may pave the way

Researchers at Arizona State University developed a new concrete that uses shredded rubber from old tires as one of its components. The more immediate use for the rubber concrete is in areas such as sports courts and more durable sidewalks; highway use is more likely to be at least 10 years in the future.
