In Ohio, ambitious voucher program likely to pass

If a bill now in the Republican-controlled Legislature is successful, Ohio soon will launch the nation's largest voucher program, enabling 18,000 students with poor reading and math scores to receive scholarships of $4,000 to $5,000 for private school tuition. While advocates say the measure would expand parental choice, critics say it siphons critical resources away from schools in need.
