Aflac shareholders get "Say on Pay"

Although the "Say on Pay" issue has been a hot topic at corporate annual meetings this year, 93% of Aflac shareholders voted in favor of a proposed total compensation package for the company's top five executives. These types of say-on-pay votes are only advisory and non-binding and because they do not vote on individual pay packages but rather on the total for five executives, some critics argue it doesn't really give investors much of a "say" at all.
