Construction begins on $290M coke-making plant in Illinois

Work started this week on a coke-making plant in Granite City, Ill. The $290 million project is part of a $570 million venture between Gateway Energy and Coke Co., a division of Sunoco Inc., and it won the approval of environmental groups that were assured of technology to reduce pollution.
