Study: Ibuprofen, other NSAIDs may lower Alzheimer's risk

Patients who received ibuprofen for more than five years had a 40% lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, while those who took certain other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs showed a 25% reduced risk, according to a study by Boston University researchers. One of the researchers, however, said "the risk varies by the individual drug" and that patients should not abruptly start taking ibuprofen in the hopes of preventing the condition.
