American Airlines strikes a tentative deal with mechanics

American Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with its largest union, helping to ease fears of a summer work stoppage. The new, three-year contract would cover about 11,500 mechanics and related workers covered by the Transport Workers Union and comes after 2 1/2 years of negotiations.
