Are celebrity endorsements bad for business?

As the environmental movement takes off, celebrities are rushing to associate themselves with green products -- but it's not clear whether that's actually good for the brands in question. Celebrity endorsements don't necessarily generate sales, experts say, and, if a star is subsequently spotted acting in a less-than-green manner, the endorsement can actually tarnish a product's credibility.
