Covidien anticipates shortage in May supply of Mo-99

Covidien said it is expecting that for at least three days in every week of this month, there will be no supply of molybdenum-99. As a result, there would be no technetium-99m generator service for nearly half of the month. The May shortage is a consequence of continuing repair work at the Dutch and Canadian reactors. The BR2 reactor in Belgium is also down this month for maintenance work.
