Michel Barnier, internal-market commissioner for the EU, will be in the U.S. next week as the European Parliament votes on legislation that would subject hedge funds to increased scrutiny and regulation. Barnier is scheduled to meet with some of Wall Street's leading executives, including Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon. He will also meet with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. Barnier said he will outline the European Commission's legislative agenda as it pertains to financial markets.
