Federal workers to test benefits of telework

In a test to see whether telework improves employee performance and morale, some 400 Office of Personnel Management workers will be allowed to decide when and where they do their jobs for six months. "Managers are expected to manage for results rather than process. Employees are trusted to get the work done. This is a shift in culture from permission granting to performance guiding," says Jonathan Foley, OPM senior adviser.
