Hospitals explore in-house repairs, maintenance for imaging devices

Hospitals seeking to limit costs are exploring in-house solutions with the help of original equipment manufacturers to maintain the good condition of their imaging devices, including MRI, CT, PET and PET/CT, according to a survey conducted by IMV Medical Information Division. These shared-services arrangements allow hospitals to retain partnerships with OEMs for complex repairs but use their own staff to manage routine maintenance and faulty devices.
