Propane heaters help fruit farmers beat the frost

Fruit farmers in Colorado enlisted the aid of propane heaters to keep fruit blossoms warm during a spring frost. "The threat of a late freeze is not over," said Connie Williams, owner of Williams' Orchard. Fruit growers also used wind machines, wood fires and smudge pots to keep their crops at above-freezing temperatures.
