RFA: Gulf oil spill is a reminder of renewable fuels' benefits:

The Obama administration should remember that the underlying problem behind the spreading oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is America's dependence on foreign oil, said Bob Dinneen, president of the Renewable Fuels Association. He recommended three immediate steps the government could take to help support the renewable-fuels industry: allowing the blending of 12% ethanol for each gallon of gasoline; granting a full waiver for the use of 15% ethanol blends as soon as government testing is complete; and making loan-guarantee programs more accessible for cellulosic ethanol technologies.
