The advent of the public capital markets moving into the real estate sector has been the most significant change to the retail sector in the long view, says Bobby Taubman, chairman, president and CEO of Taubman Centers. More recently, though, the greatest impact to retail real estate has been geographic -- namely, Asia's growth. That region has been tremendously incremental to the retail real estate sector, he says. "That growth is continuing and we don't see anything to abate it," he says.
