Teen pilot was inspired by grandfather to earn license

Seventeen-year-old Jordan Ambers was inspired by his grandfather, a general aviation pilot, to earn his pilot's license. "I could fly an airplane by myself before I could drive," said Ambers, who flew his first solo flight at 16. Ambers is a senior at Monacan High School, and took flight lessons at Chesterfield County Airport in Richmond, Va.
