AMA: Docs need a voice in Sunshine Act reports

Physicians should be allowed to make comments and share context for drug and device industry reports of payments and transfers of value required under the Sunshine Act, the American Medical Association wrote to CMS. While the AMA agrees with the preliminary data collection framework, it said context from doctors in the reports would enhance the value of the data, and protections must be instituted to ensure physicians are not exposed to potential identity theft.
