BP exec discusses offshore safety, hiring plans in Texas forum

BP has revamped its safety culture since the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, said Lamar McKay, CEO of the company's upstream business. The U.K. oil major is still working to resolve some spill-related obligations, but such efforts are not impeding growth plans, he said during the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston. BP also seeks to ramp up hiring of business, engineering and science graduates this year, after hiring 300 in 2009.
