Casino operators to compete for casino license in Md. county

Penn National Gaming has said it will bid for the sole casino license to be issued for Prince George's County, Md. MGM Resorts International also wants to build a resort in the county, which adjoins Washington, D.C., and is just across the Potomac River from Virginia. A statewide referendum in 2012 allows only National Harbor and Penn National's Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington as possible casino sites. The companies have until Friday to submit their proposals.
