IRS extends period for submitting taxpayer authorizations to disclose return information

On Monday, the Internal Revenue Service finalized an extension of the time allowed for submitting a taxpayer’s signed authorization to disclose a taxpayer’s returns or return information to third parties. The period is now 120 days from the time the taxpayer signs the authorization, up from 60 days.
