Need for security forces tech innovators to step on the brakes

With the number of cyberattacks against leading technology companies on the rise, industry pioneers in Silicon Valley are finding they need to juggle two often conflicting goals: getting products to market fast and getting them to market safe. For years, the tech industry defined itself by slogans such as "Done is better than perfect" and was accustomed to releasing software first and perfecting it by plugging vulnerabilities later, but industry groups such as the Center for Democracy and Technology are calling on developers to slow down and take the time needed to release secure products.
