Strategies for dealing with more than one job offer

Academics juggling more than one job offer should be honest about their situation and choose the best job for their career, David Perlmutter, director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa, writes in this column. Other factors to consider include salary, cost of living and whether their family is agreeable to a move, Perlmutter writes. "Once you've made the choice, however, don't second-guess yourself. Your new home, colleagues, and job will demand your unreserved and undivided attention."
