Study: Teens with diabetes do not follow dietary guidelines

Teens with type 1 diabetes often have a diet that does not comply with nutritional guidelines for fats, carbohydrates and fiber, according to a study presented at the Pediatric Endocrine Society annual meeting. One researcher said the emphasis has been on regulating hemoglobin A1C and healthy eating habits have not received enough attention.
