DIRECTV tops estimates on higher revenue per sub

DIRECTV's profit rose more than analysts were expecting as revenues per subscriber grew by 4.3% and the satellite provider added 12,000 customers in the first quarter. The company also added 361,000 customers in Latin America. DIRECTV brought in more revenue per U.S. subscriber in the first quarter, leading to a 5% increase in U.S. revenue.
