Honolulu officials urge Navy to take steps regarding leaking storage tank

The Honolulu City Council is asking the Navy to step up efforts to address a jet-fuel leak that the council said could threaten Oahu's water supply in the event of an earthquake. Contractors are inspecting the underground storage tank that leaked as much as 27,000 gallons of jet fuel at the Navy's Red Hill storage facility before being discovered in January. Officials haven't concluded what caused the leak.
